Avon Philippines hosted a lunch and launch yesterday at the Le Jardin Manila, located at a penthouse in Taguig.
The set-up is divine.
The set-up is divine.
The event is called "A Shared Lunch, A Shared Purpose", where guests were introduced to Avon's long-time advocacy on breast cancer awareness, and their new ambassadors for the campaign.
But before that!
But before that!
We had our lunch! All these while listening to this acoustic singer's beautiful rendition of Fix You and other empowering and heartwarming songs.
Ladies who lunch! With Ava, Ruth, and Mother Earth:
What we had:
A special "pink ribbon" cake was a favorite for my seatmates' Instagram flatlays, hehe:
Then the program's host Ms. Gelli Victor talked about the afternoon's agenda.
Ms. Faith Mondejar of Avon Philippines introduced the three ambassadors for the 2015 Kiss Goodbye To Breast Cancer Campaign.
“We are very honored to have Jennylyn, Rocco, and his mom Linda as our newest KGBC ambassadors. These three truly believe in Avon’s mission to create a world with more empowered women and their passion to support the breast cancer cause has been inspiring,” said Faith Fernandez-Mondejar, Avon Head for Asia Pacific Communications and Philippines PR and Communications.
Jennylyn Mercado, award-winning actress, singer, host, and model is also Avon Fashions Intimate Apparel ambassador.
“I have found a deeper purpose in my role as an Avon endorser. It is definitely a privilege to be tapped as spokesperson for Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer,” expressed Jennylyn. She furthered that, “I just want to invite everyone to be part of this campaign. After all, no one is excused. Women and men alike can be a victim. But the good news is, we can all do something. We can all do our share.”
Joining Jennylyn is multi-talented actor and registered nurse, Rocco Nacino.
Everyone's moved when Rocco Nacino, New Movie Actor of the Year at the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Movies, read a monologue of his mom's journey battling breast cancer.
“With the KGBC campaign, I am able to give back to the community for giving us mom’s second life. We thank God, our friends, our families and to everyone who supported us during our difficult times. It feels good to do good to others,” said Rocco.
He added, “Spreading breast cancer awareness is close to my heart because my mom is a survivor of the disease herself. When I learned Avon is campaigning for a crusade against breast cancer, I did not have to think twice about being a part of it.”
The three ambassadors, Jennylyn, Rocco, and Ms. Linda Nacino, a breast cancer survivor and Rocco's mom.
Linda, who has been cancer-free for 16 years, also launched her own “Piso Para sa Chemo” – a coin drive using empty water bottles, which benefits breast cancer patients at the PGH Breast Care Center. To date, she has been able to turnover over P40,000 worth of cash donation to patients at the PGH Breast care Center with the help of Rocco’s fans, their family, and friends.
“Beating breast cancer is tough, but we can be tougher. Just always remember real beauty comes from being empowered, and being empowered means being able to share that empowerment with others,” said Linda.
Also present during the event are these strong women, who also battled and are battling against breast cancer. They are all beautiful and have very optimistic vibe.
Jennylyn, Rocco, and Linda are calling everyone to be part of creating a compassionate difference on October 10, 2015, Saturday, by joining the Avon Walk and Run events at the SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds. This is the first time ever that the event is happening on a Saturday, a fitting day to celebrate 10 years of the Avon Walk in the Philippines: 10th year on 10/10!
